Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreen Sued Over Herbal Supplements

By Jonathan Randles (February 5, 2015, 5:14 PM EST) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Target Corp. and The Walgreen Co. have each been slapped with proposed class actions in California federal court over the sale of store-brand herbal supplements that were allegedly mislabeled or don't contain their listed ingredients.

At least six lawsuits have been filed against the three retailers as of late Thursday — two against each retailer. The complaints come days after New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that an investigation by his office determined the herbal supplements the companies sold either didn't contain labeled substances or contained ingredients that were not listed on product labeling.
