Dancers Get $265K From Md. Strip Clubs In FLSA Win

Law360, New York (February 10, 2015, 6:43 PM EST) -- A Maryland federal judge on Monday tacked almost $70,000 onto a $197,000 jury award for a class of six exotic dancers who claimed they were underpaid when the owners of two nightclubs improperly classified them as independent contractors.

U.S. District Judge Deborah K. Chasanow entered a final judgment of $265,276 in the wage-and-hour suit against the proprietors of Fuego’s Exotic Dance Club and Club Extasy Exotic Dance Club, a pair of clubs in Prince George's County, Maryland.
