Winn-Dixie Wins OK For 5th Bankruptcy Filing Extension

Law360, New York (April 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a widely supported move, a federal judge on Thursday gave Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. 70 more days to go shopping for a consensual reorganization plan.

The beleaguered supermarket chain was granted approval by Judge Jerry A. Funk in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida to extend its time to submit an approval from April 20 to June 29.

The subsequent time to gain acceptance of the plan from its creditors was also extended from June 21 to August 29.
