Vertis, American Color Enter Ch. 11 In Order To Merge

Law360 (July 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Vertis Communications and American Color Graphics Inc. have each entered bankruptcy in order to facilitate Vertis' purchase of American Color, after overwhelming majorities of both printing and premedia companies' noteholders approved their prepackaged reorganization plans.

Baltimore-based Vertis and Brentwood, Tenn.-based American Color, plus several affiliates of both, filed voluntary Chapter 11 petitions Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Both expect the cases to be over within a couple of months.
