11 Statewide Classes OK'd In ConAgra '100% Natural' Oil Row

Law360, New York (February 24, 2015, 3:12 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Monday largely signed off on a class certification motion in a suit over ConAgra Foods Inc.'s alleged mislabeling of its Wesson oil products as "100% natural" even though they contain genetically modified ingredients, certifying 11 statewide classes but nixing an injunctive relief class.

Although U.S. District Judge Margaret M. Morrow did trim claims from some of the classes, she said she would allow the plaintiffs to pursue certain other claims brought under the states' various consumer protection statutes, after concluding that the plaintiffs had satisfied five of the threshold requirements for class certification.
