Customer Reps Sue ACS Over Break Pay

Law360, New York (July 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A purported class action filed against Affiliated Computer Systems Inc. for allegedly unpaid mandatory rest breaks to call center workers has been moved to federal court.

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington took jurisdiction over the case on Thursday because it involved citizens of different states and the amount in controversy exceeded $75,000.

Statute 28 U.S.C. ยง 1332, as amended by the Class Action Fairness Act, grants federal courts jurisdiction in such cases.
