Google Says Alice Kills Priceline Founder's Photo Tag Patent

Law360, Los Angeles (March 11, 2015, 6:47 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. invoked the Supreme Court’s Alice decision Tuesday in its bid to throw out a suit brought by the founder of Priceline.com over a patent for photo tagging technology, saying the patent does nothing more than identify a person in a photograph.

Inventor Holdings LLC is trying to assert a patent for an abstract idea that doesn’t disclose any new technology to perform the function of analyzing faces in a photograph, Google said in its motion to dismiss.
