Chinese-Imported Sacks Harmed U.S. Industry: ITC

Law360 (July 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has unanimously ruled that U.S. producers of laminated woven polypropylene sacks are being materially injured by dumped and subsidized imports of the products from China.

The 6-0 decision, handed down Friday, paves the way for the U.S. Department of Commerce to issue countervailing duty and anti-dumping duty orders on imports of the products from China. The department has determined that the sacks are subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.
