Lime Wire Lashes Out At RIAA Liability Theories

Law360, New York (July 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Internet file-sharing service Lime Wire LLC on Friday argued in a federal court that the judge should dismiss certain claims in the ongoing record company suit against the company, calling the case one part of a “much larger, sustained campaign to suppress innovation.”

In two supporting briefs for summary judgment, Lime Wire said that U.S. District Judge Gerard E. Lynch of the Southern District of New York should dismiss both the claims of the company's secondary copyright infringement and of the company's employees' tertiary copyright infringement....
