Amazon.com Settles Web Tracking Patent Suit

Law360 (April 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Amazon.com has resolved an infringement lawsuit brought by BTG International Inc. over its two patents relating to Web navigational tracking used in online marketing programs.

Under the settlement, BTG has given the Seattle-based Internet retailer a non-exclusive license to use the patents dealing with tracking Internet user history between Web sites, according to Amazon.com in its filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
