Winn-Dixie Creditors Seek Note Issuance Probe

Law360, New York (April 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Trying to boost its case for substantive consolidation, a band of Winn-Dixie Stores Inc.’s trade creditors have asked the bankruptcy court for permission to investigate the supermarket chain’s $300 million note issuance in December 2000.

The group lodged the request earlier this week, arguing that the facts surrounding the note issuance could prove "very relevant" to the Chapter 11 case, according to court papers filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.
