Hasbro Inc. Slaps Scrabulous With IP Suit

Law360, New York (July 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Game maker Hasbro Inc. is suing the makers of online word game Scrabulous for violating the trademark and copyrights of the “venerable and famous” crossword board game Scrabble.

The suit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, names as defendants the company RJ Softward and its founders, brothers Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla. Hasbro is asking for a jury trial, an injunction, damages and attorneys' fees.
