Nielsen Ratings Parent May Face Antitrust Suit

Law360 (May 2, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The antitrust lawsuit against media ratings firm Nielsen Media Research Inc. may expand to engulf its parent company, VNU NV, only months after the Dutch media conglomerate settled drawn-out allegations of anti-competitive behavior and contract bundling.

Judge Susan C. Bucklew, who is handling the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, granted Monday a motion by plaintiff erinMedia LLC to allow more time to consider naming VNU as a defendant.
