Malpractice Claimants Get Voice In St. Vincent Case

Law360, New York (May 2, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The law firms representing victims of alleged medical malpractice at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center won a voice last Tuesday, when a federal judge approved a request for the lawyers to have an official tort claimants committee in the hospital’s bankruptcy case.

Judge Adlai D. Hardin, Jr. of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan directed the U.S. Trustee overseeing the beleaguered hospital’s Chapter 11 case to appoint a committee to represent the medical malpractice claimants’ interests.
