Game Likely Over For Segan's Zynga Patent Suit, Judge Says

Law360, San Francisco (April 1, 2015, 4:54 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge indicated Wednesday that he's likely to nix Segan LLC's case accusing several Zynga Inc. games of infringing a patent on using and designing characters that can interact with websites, saying that under his interpretation of the patent, Zynga's games function differently and don't infringe.

U.S. District Court Judge Vince Chhabria said during the combined claim construction and summary judgment hearing that Segan appears to be encouraging him to interpret its patent broadly in order to make the patent apply to Zynga's games....
