NJ Doctors Get Prison Time In Lab Services Bribe Scheme

Law360, New York (April 2, 2015, 1:28 PM EDT) -- Three New Jersey doctors convicted of accepting bribes in exchange for referring patients to Biodiagnostics Laboratory Services LLC for testing services must serve prison time and pay fines, a federal judge ruled this week.

U.S. District Judge Stanley R. Chesler on Thursday sentenced Angelo Calabrese, 57, who pled guilty to accepting more than $130,000 in bribes in September 2013, to 37 months in prison and the forfeiture of $334,000. On Tuesday, Judge Chesler sentenced Wayne Lajewski, 51, and Glenn Leslie, 60,  who also pled guilty to accepting bribes, to 14 months and two years in federal prison, respectively, according to the...
