Signal Can't Duck Trafficking Claims In Texas

Law360, New York (April 2, 2015, 1:19 PM EDT) -- Signal International LLC will have to face claims in Texas federal court that it trafficked workers from India and subjected them to involuntary servitude, a judge ruled, dealing another blow to the shipbuilder in one of several related cases unfolding against the company.

U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on Tuesday adopted a magistrate judge’s report and denied Signal’s motion for partial summary judgement, which sought to exclude three of the workers’ seven claims ahead of a trial scheduled for late this summer.
