Appeals Court Dumps Dentist's Defamation Suit Against AOL

Law360, Dallas (April 3, 2015, 3:38 PM EDT) -- A Texas appeals court on Thursday dismissed defamation claims against AOL Inc. and a reporter brought by a Dallas-area dentist who claimed an online article falsely represented to the public that he’d been criminally charged with Medicaid fraud while civil fraud lawsuits were pending.

Dentist Richard Malouf and his wife sued AOL and reporter Graham Wood over a 2012 article headlined, “Dentist Richard Malouf Builds Backyard Water Park While Charged with Massive Fraud."
