Sprint Could Pay $73M In Early Termination Fee Case

Law360, New York (July 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California judge has ordered Sprint Nextel Corp. to pay $73 million in refunds and credits to customers who sued the company over its early termination fees. Sprint has two weeks to respond before the final decision is entered.

In an order issued late Monday in Alameda County Superior Court, Judge Bonnie Sabraw ruled that Sprint violated state law and must pay $18.25 million to customers who sued the company for charging them to get out of their contracts early, as well as an additional $54.75...
