Coffee Cos. Look To Keep Keurig Antitrust Claims Alive

Law360, New York (April 14, 2015, 2:21 PM EDT) -- Coffee companies fought to keep alive antitrust suits brought against Keurig Green Mountain Inc. over its single-cup brewing machine, telling a New York federal judge on Monday that the K-Cup coffee pod maker can’t make a compelling case for dismissal.

Rogers Family Co. Inc. said that Keurig’s motion to dismiss its amended complaint from the multidistrict litigation is rife with “blanket assertions” about perceived defects in Rogers’ case, yet it fails to address detailed allegations about a scheme to block competitors’ coffee cups.
