Tower Gets More Time To Discuss Plan With Unions

Law360, New York (May 5, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Joining the ranks of other automotive companies that can’t seem to cut a deal with their workers, Tower Automotive Inc. was given an extension Friday to work out an agreement on cutting labor costs.

Judge Allan Gropper, who is overseeing the company’s Chapter 11 reorganization, said he extended the deadline to May 15 at the request of Tower and its three big unions. However, he indicated that the deadline would be extended if necessary.
