Trade Secrets Programs Give Employers An Edge

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As workers become increasingly mobile and information becomes easily transferable, a trade secrets protection program can serve as a critical deterrent against intellectual property theft and help employers steer clear of costly litigation down the road.

While IP and employment experts say some companies are taking affirmative steps to safeguard their trade secrets, many firms do not have a formal program in place and will continue to operate without one as the economy declines.
