'Greedy' Fee Bid Gets Low Payout For Kraft Label Attys

Law360, New York (April 29, 2015, 7:29 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday once again disappointed plaintiffs' attorneys in class action settlement of allegations Kraft Foods Inc. misleadingly labeled unhealthy snacks as "sensible," by awarding them only $11,000 out of a requested $1.9 million in fees for two years of work.

U.S. District Judge George H. Wu, who had criticized the attorneys' fee bid in June as "greedy" in a tentative ruling, said that the amount requested by the attorneys is "plainly excessive," as most of the proposed class claims had failed.
