Collins & Aikman Wins Extension For Reorganization Plan

Law360, New York (May 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Though not quite the amount of time it had originally asked for, bankrupt Auto supplier Collins & Aikman Corp. received an extra 75 days to have the exclusive right to file a Chapter 11 re-organization plan.

Judge Stephen Rhodes of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Detroit granted the motion on Thursday, though the reason he did not give the full amount of requested days is unclear.

The company now is scheduled to file a re-organization plan by July 29 and had its sole right to lobby...
