Verizon Wireless Sued Over Streaming Television Patents

Law360 (May 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Those who eagerly use their Verizon cell phones as mini-televisions may find their signals in danger of disappearing, as the mobile communications company deals with a new patent infringement lawsuit over technologies used to broadcast TV.

The suit was filed by a unit of holding company Speedus Corp. against telecom firm Verizon Wireless, a joint venture of Verizon Communications Inc. and Vodafone Group, with 55% and 45% ownership, respectively.
