Tropicana Gets Boost In Brawl Over Casino

Law360 (August 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt casino operator Tropicana Entertainment Holdings LLC has scored an extension until January to file its Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan, reviving hope that it will somehow be able to wrest back its gaming license from the New Jersey Casino Control Commission.

On Monday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Carey signed off on the bid, calling the relief requested “in the best interests of the debtors' estates, their creditors and other parties in interest,” the order read.
