Powerchip Joins Calif. Micron-Mosaid Spat

Law360, New York (August 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Taiwan-based Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. has filed an amended intervenor complaint seeking to invalidate 11 dynamic random access memory patents in a two-year-old battle spanning two district courts between Mosaid Technologies Inc. and Micron Technology Inc.

The complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, requests declaratory judgment of non-infringement and the invalidation of patents owned by Ottawa-based semiconductor company Mosaid. Powerchip also alleges inequitable conduct in the prosecution of the patents and laches.
