Wi-LAN Drops TI From Wireless Patent Suit

Law360 (August 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ottawa-based Wi-LAN Inc. has scrapped its claims against Texas Instruments Inc. in its ongoing suit that has rounded up more than a dozen electronics companies for allegedly infringing its wireless technology patents.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday signed off on Wi-LAN’s unopposed motion to dismiss its allegations against Texas Instruments without prejudice.

The judge ordered the parties to bear their own costs and attorneys’ fees.
