Medtronic Sues Boston Scientific, Abbott Over Stents

Law360, New York (August 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the latest battle over drug-eluting stent technology, Medtronic Inc. sued Boston Scientific Corp. and Abbott Laboratories on Wednesday over a patent for the product.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accuses the two companies, along with three subsidiaries, of infringing and inducing the infringement of Medtronic's patent for "Intravascular Stent and Method." The complaint does not specify the infringing products.
