No End In Sight For DRAM Litigation

Law360, New York (May 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The whirlwind of litigation involving DRAM technology will not abate any time soon, despite a federal judge's preliminary approval last week of a $160 million settlement to be paid by the world’s top memory-chip makers.

Under the settlement agreement approved by U.S. District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton, South Korea-based Samsung Electronics Co. will pay out $67 million, Korea-based Hynix Semiconductor Inc. will pay $73 million, and Infineon Technologies AG, based in Germany, will pay $20 million.
