Ga. Appeals Court To Consider Coal Plant Permit

Law360, New York (August 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Georgia's appeals court will review a lower court's decision that revoked a permit for the state's first new coal-fired power plant in 20 years, striking a blow to environmental groups that claim the permit violates the Clean Air Act.

On Wednesday, the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia granted a request made by the state and power company Dynegy Inc. to review the Fulton County Superior Court's decision that halted the Longleaf Energy Station in Early County, Ga.
