Legal Secretary Launches Whistleblower Suit Against NJ Firm

Law360, Jersey City (June 18, 2015, 5:54 PM EDT) -- A former legal secretary with Einhorn Harris Ascher Barbarito & Frost PC has accused the New Jersey law firm of illegally firing her because she complained about alleged improper billing practices and attorneys running roughshod over conflicts.

In a June 12 complaint in Morris County Superior Court, Cynthia Reeves contends Einhorn Harris charged attorney rates for work she performed as a secretary and ignored conflicts and duties to its clients in the pursuit of fees. She is suing the Denville, New Jersey-based firm under the state's Conscientious Employee Act.
