Fortunoff Asks Judge To Dismiss Ch. 11 Case

Law360, New York (August 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After reaching an agreement with its final secured creditors, Fortunoff Fine Jewelry and Silverware LLC has asked a federal bankruptcy judge to dismiss its Chapter 11 case.

In its Aug. 18 motion, the bankrupt jewelry and furniture retailer asked Judge James M. Peck of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to approve a deal with junior secured lenders that would allow the final secured claims in the case to be paid.
