Judge Denies Class In Treasury Bonds Trading Suit

Law360 (August 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Illinois denied class certification last Friday to a group of investors who filed a lawsuit stemming from claims of insider trading on 30-year treasury bonds and their derivatives in 2001.

Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois ruled that the class proposed by Premium Plus Partners was overly broad and doubted that the Chicago-based investment house would adequately serve the needs of the other class members.
