Foreclosure Firm Owes $17M From Defunct Affiliate, Bank Says

Law360, New York (June 29, 2015, 6:02 PM EDT) -- Amegy Bank NA sued a foreclosure and debt-collection law firm in Maryland federal court on Monday alleging it is withholding about $17 million, as well as key electronic records, that are owed to the bank by its now-defunct affiliate.

Amegy said Morris Schneider Wittstadt LLC refused to pay it $17 million and hand over electronic records of foreclosures that are owed to the bank under a 2011 purchase agreement with the now-defunct Butler & Hosch PA, another foreclosure specialist that partially merged with MSW in January....
