Mohawk Can't Withhold Lawyer Records: 11th Circ.

Law360, New York (August 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit has upheld a decision granting a former Mohawk Industries Inc. employee's motion to compel disclosure of documents the company claimed were protected by attorney-client privilege, in a suit alleging the employee was fired for reporting undocumented workers.

Plaintiff Norman Carpenter claims he was fired after reporting to Mohawk's human resources department that several workers from a temporary agency were illegal aliens, amid a separate class action alleging that the Georgia-based flooring giant recruited and employed illegal immigrants...
