DuPont, NJ City To Submit Deal Over Contaminated Ex-Plant

By Martin Bricketto (July 6, 2015, 2:42 PM EDT) -- DuPont Co. has reached a tentative deal with Newark, New Jersey, to settle the city's federal lawsuit over a witch's brew of arsenic, chromium and lead at the former site of a pigment plant, the company said in a letter to the court on Monday.

Representing DuPont, Glenn A. Harris of Ballard Spahr LLP said in the letter the proposed settlement would soon be submitted to Newark's city council for approval, after which the agreement will be executed and DuPont and the city would agree to the company's dismissal from the case.
