TransUnion Consumer Privacy Saga Nearing Its End

Law360, New York (September 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Time is running out for consumers to participate in a wide-ranging class action settlement proposed by TransUnion Corp., with the credit bureau seeking to finally put behind it the long-standing litigation over whether it illegally peddled consumer information.

Those affected have until Sept. 24 to register for benefits under the settlement, in which TransUnion has agreed to provide free credit monitoring for millions in order to silence claims that it gave private information out for marketing purposes.
