La. Seeks Sanctions Against Eli Lilly In Zyprexa MDL

Law360, New York (September 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Louisiana has asked a federal court to sanction Eli Lilly & Co. for failing to meet discovery obligations in the multidistrict litigation over psychiatric drug Zyprexa, accusing the company of engaging in "discovery gamesmanship."

The amended motion, filed Saturday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, asks the court to order the pharmaceutical giant to produce all outstanding documents and other discovery materials requested, saying that Lilly has produced "a fraction" of what the state asked for.
