Assembly Line Workers Sue Toyota For Overtime Pay

Law360, New York (September 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of assembly line workers has fired off a collective action accusing Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc. of not paying them for overtime work.

The eight assembly line workers, who say their collective action could include up to 10,000 plaintiffs, claim that since the company only pays extra when employees have worked at least six minutes over the 40-hour week, the employer frequently rounded down the overtime work they put in so it could fall just short of the six-minute mark....
