Ex-Fish Partner Sues Sony, Others Over GPS Patents

Law360, New York (September 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former Fish & Richardson PC partner who recently settled litigation with the firm over his patent portfolio has sued several electronics-makers including Sony Electronics Inc. over patents related to global positioning systems.

Scott C. Harris and Memory Control Enterprise LLC, a company he co-owns, brought the infringement suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against eight makers of GPS navigation products.

In addition to Sony, the suit names Dash Navigation Inc., Garmin International Inc., Lowrance Electronics Inc., Magellan Navigation...
