Missouri Atty Cops To Marriage Fraud Scheme

By Stewart Bishop (August 5, 2015, 6:57 PM EDT) -- A Missouri attorney has pled guilty to his role in a marriage fraud conspiracy in which he enlisted a U.S. citizen to marry his Ukrainian mistress so she could remain in the country and pursue citizenship, prosecutors said on Wednesday.

James Douglas Barding, 62, of Jefferson City, Missouri, copped to one count of conspiracy before U.S. Magistrate Judge Matt J. Whitworth on Tuesday, according to Tammy Dickinson, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
