GSK Seeks Final Approval For $40M Paxil Settlement

Law360, New York (September 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- GlaxoSmithKline PLC is close to finalizing a $40 million settlement for thousands of health care funds and insurance companies that paid for the anxiety drug Paxil for patients under the age of 18.

In a motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, class representatives Carpenters and Joinders Welfare Fund and Universal Care Inc. joined GSK in asking the court to grant final approval to a putative class action settlement first reached in May.
