New Suit Says Wal-Mart Owes Overtime Wages

Law360, New York (September 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has been slapped with a proposed collective action by an employee who claims the retail giant miscalculated employees' overtime wages by not accounting for missed meal breaks.

In a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Bennett Rubin — an hourly worker at a Wal-Mart store in Panorama City, Calif. from 1998 to 2006 — alleges that his former employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
