Judge Dissolves Ford Dealers' Class Action

Law360, New York (September 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has disbanded a proposed class of car dealers alleging that Ford Motor Co. treated them unfairly in the course of an incentive program it operated from 2000 to 2005, in violation of federal and state competition laws.

Judge Jane Roth of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ruled Friday that the dealers' claims were too different from one another to certify a class action, reversing a decision by a lower court.
