ArcelorMittal, Others Accused Of Fixing Price Of Steel

Law360, New York (September 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- ArcelorMittal USA Inc. and several other major steel producers have been hit with a proposed antitrust class action alleging they engaged in a conspiracy to keep steel prices high and overcharge their customers.

In a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Standard Iron Works accuses eight steel producers of violating federal antitrust laws by agreeing to artificially restrict the supply of raw steel during a period of high demand.
