Marvel Blasts 'Fishing' For Facts In 'Iron Man' Armor IP Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (August 26, 2015, 7:38 PM EDT) -- Walt Disney’s Marvel Entertainment LLC on Wednesday blasted an effort by two artists who once worked for the comic book giant to seek discovery in their Massachusetts federal suit claiming Marvel lifted the futuristic suit of armor seen in the blockbuster “Iron Man” movies.

Opposing a motion to conduct jurisdictional discovery by Horizon Comics Productions Inc., owned by artists Ben and Ray Lai, the entertainment giant argued they were trying to “fish for facts” in a district that wasn’t a proper venue for the case....
