St. Louis Found Liable For Asbestos Safety Violations

Law360, New York (September 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The city of St. Louis violated federal asbestos safety policy when it approved the mass demolition of buildings to make way for a runway expansion project at Lambert St. Louis International Airport, a federal judge has ruled.

U.S. District Judge Carol E. Jackson in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri handed down an order on Monday, granting summary judgment in favor of the citizens' group that brought the case and denying summary judgment to the city and the city-owned airport.
