Seven More Companies Queried In Backdating Probe

Law360, New York (June 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The whirlwind of investigations into possible stock options backdating has sucked in seven more companies, as concerns over options granting practices mount among regulators and shareholders alike.

Five of these seven companies are based in California, and all have some sort of technology or Internet component to their products and services.

Computer security company McAfee, Inc. received a subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission seeking documents relating to stock option practices. McAfee had previously been communicating with the SEC and Department of Justice informally. On...
