Qualcomm Takes Nokia Complaint To ITC

Law360, New York (June 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Semiconductor company Qualcomm Inc. escalated its riff with handset maker Nokia Corp. on Monday, asking the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate its allegations of patent infringement against Nokia.

Qualcomm, which makes technology used in wireless products, asked the ITC to launch an investigation into allegedly unfair trade practices by Nokia. The trade practices in question related to suspected patent infringement.

The investigation request exacerbates an already contentious situation.
